Dans sa dimension internationale, il a généré en 2012, 1075 milliards de dollars US de recettes pour 1,035 milliard de voyageurs, avec une hausse de 4% par rapport à 2011. 
Au premier semestre 2013, le monde a enregistré une croissance de 5% de ses arrivées touristiques alors que les projections de l’OMT (organisation mondiale du tourisme)  portaient sur une croissance de 3 à 4%  pour cette même année. 
Cette croissance remarquable a été plus marquée dans les pays émergents (6%) que dans les économies avancées (4%).

Tourism in Africa: a growing industry

The intention of their host was clear: see, feel and believe. This enhancement of Zimbabwe was more eloquent than any speech. She encouraged tourism ministers from Ghana, Namibia, Uganda and other African optimistic to believe in the potential of their continent countries. The American Ambassador Charles A.
