Tourism in Algeria
The tragic events of the early 1990s delayed infrastructure development and discouraged many tourists staying there. However, the trend tends to inverser4 with a return of foreigners, especially tourism affinity from France. We note, for example, a 20% increase in tourism between 2000 and 2005.
The main competitors are the Mediterranean countries the majority of which has developed strongly in this sector5 based economy.
Tourism policy of the state
Developed at the "National and International Conference on Tourism" project was created to provide a new home dynamics and management of tourism in Algeria. This project is called (2025). Foreign investors, mostly French, are positioned to dominate the market, focusing mainly on business customers.
The first advertising campaign dedicated to the industry was created to attract investors such as foreign customers, as well as concrete measures such as conferences, trade shows or commissions6.
International footballer Zinedine Zidane was also put to use for a new ad produced this time under the aegis of the phone operator, Wataniya Telecom Algeria, for a individuelle7 customers.
A Quality Plan Tourism Algeria was adopted by the government but by the end of 2010, only 10% of tourist facilities in Algeria have joined the program. Investors are interested in the potential of the country and the highest authorities as the representative of the Secretary General of the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), Frédéric Perret, said at the conference of the International Exhibition of Tourism and Travel light in Algeria in 2010, the Algerian tourism sector has great potential thanks to "its Mediterranean beaches, the fascinating national Park Djurdjuran, its human treasures, culture and history."

Main points of interest
Algeria is blessed with significant natural assets such as beaches generally still in the wild, landscapes and areas such as the Algerian Sahara. Algeria has 10 national parks including the Cultural Park Tassili (100,000 ha), the National Park Ahaggar (Hoggar) (380,000 ha)
Hikers have access to the vast mountains of Kabylia. Despite what you think, Algeria also has a ski area Tikjda and spas.
Architecturally, we note strong Spanish influences, Arabic and French following the colonization but also more contemporary works. The main post office in Algiers remains a remarkable monument of neo-Moorish type Voinot and work of Jules Marius Toudoire. The Casbah of Algiers is also a place to visit World Heritage of UNESCO since 1982.
